The Northville Community Foundation

Founded in 1997, the Northville Community Foundation exists for the purpose of enhancing and enriching life in the Northville community. The Foundation supports nonprofit organizations, educational programs, health related issues for youth and seniors, historic preservation and the arts. The Foundation is a tax-exempt organization. The Foundation also awards numerous scholarships to high school seniors. To date over 100 scholarships have been awarded. Our mission is to build today for tomorrow.  Read more about us

 2013 Independence Day Parade - July 4, 2013

paradeAmerica: Yesterday, Today, and Forever!

The Parade begins at 10:00am at the foot of Griswold and Main Street in Downtown Northville. St. Mary Mercy Hospital will be among the dozens of floats entered in this year’s Parade.

Festivities begin with our opening ceremonies at City Hall followed by a parade of music, floats, marching bands, clowns, vintage and classic cars, a pet parade, a bike parade and even the Monkeymobile! There is so much to see at this year's Independence Day Parade in Northville!

The Northville Community Foundation will host the Parade for the 15th year and St. Mary Mercy Hospital is returning as our event sponsor. To register or read more

Attention Artists! Applications for Northville's 25th annual Art in the Sun, a juried fine-art fair, are now available on www.zapplication.com

Art in the Sun is the visual arts component of Arts and Acts, an exciting and vibrant annual celebration of the arts in Southeast Michigan.  Located in Northville, an affluent and picturesque enclave twenty minutes from Ann Arbor, Arts and Acts attracts a crowd truly interested in art. The overall Arts and Acts celebration includes the Reel Michigan Film Festival, the Sandbox Play Festival, the Short on Words literature contest, music from top Detroit-area acts, as well as the venerable Art in the Sun Juried Fine Arts Festival.

The 2013 show hours are: Friday, June 28, 3-9; Saturday June 29, 10-8; Sunday, June 30, 10-5.

We welcome artists in all media and categories.  All work must be original--NO imports, kits, items made from kits or items using pre-manufactured components are allowed. Artists are REQUIRED to be at the show during all hours it is open to the public.  Artist demonstrations are encouraged!

Monetary prizes will be awarded for Best of Show ($275), First Place ($150) and Second Place ($75).  Awards will be based on original art work and booth presentation. Application deadline is April 21, 2013
